An amazing history of events at Whitburn comprehensive over the past 50 years. Well, actually, it was 50 years ago in 1982 so its actually closer to 75 years ago now. This page is quite long but will load while you read it.
Note on 26/8/41 two teachers were actually called up for active service and both returned safely. One actually tought at the school until 13/10/70! Also, on 19/5/58 the telephone was installed (Tel: 2065). It just shows what modern times we lived in - even in the 80's!
